Tim is a climber. He identifies with climbing and has given the sport a huge amount of energy over the past decade. The sport has given him much in return. Originally from Massachussets, Tim started spending lots of a time in the White Mountains on the crag to a point where it made more sense to live up to the north woods. He would loiter at IME (International Mountain Equipment, a mom and pop outdoor recreation store) so much so that everyone knew him. When it came time for the management to go on a trip in Nepal they needed to hire someone to look after the store and Tim was an obvious choice.

Tim really likes working at IME. The owners have been running the store for nearly forty years and are veterans in the local climbing community. They sell used, the atmosphere is homey, and there the service is quality. The staff is very knowledgeable and experienced. For example, Tim climbed El Capitan three years ago, one of the most important big walls in rock climbing anywhere. If you have what it takes to pull off a feat like that, it’s probable that you’d be able to give great advice on buying adventure gear. Tim lives up to this logic and was great to talk to. He struck me as smart, gentle, and strong. Tim is built like a Viking but is kind like a friend.
