Rolf studied economics and worked hard for his entire career. He’s retired now but still uses his professional knowledge to stay busy by helping friends and family with taxes or advising on property deals. What he enjoys most about retirement is the fact that he can take it a bit easier now and says even his views have become a bit more relaxed. He rides his bike on a daily basis and considers this one of his only true leisure activities aside from spending time with family.

Rolf’s hat is made of straw and as it started to degrade he decided to cut out the pieces that were deteriorating the most. He noticed that wearing the modified straw hat, with an opening in the front and the back, provides wonderful ventilation on bike rides. Along these lines Rolf noted that our culture doesn’t take care of material things and that excess culture is a real problem for society and the natural world. The more things we own, the more things we have to take care of. Rolf prefers the breeze .
