matt
“From worms to humans, everything feels.” Matt struck me as a very empathetic person. He loves catch and release fishing and spoke in considerable detail about the perspective of the fish that goes for the lure. The natural world as well as other cultures fascinate Matt. He served in the armed forces and travelled the world as a result of it. He told me that the experiences he made in the army opened his eyes to the multitude of other races, creeds, religions, and ethnicities that existed. “There’s more to the world than this small town in Maine.”
As the conversation came to a close I asked Matt what is something that I haven’t asked yet that is important to know about him. Matt turned the question to his son and the friend. “Tell me something I can improve on and something good about me.” Matt believes that good leadership is about listening and that we all need someone. When I first asked Matt if I could take his picture he replied “if it helps you, sure.” Matt hopes that his kids learn to enjoy the pleasantries in life, live in the moment, and not worry about tomorrow too much.
Special thanks to my love, Shane, for helping with the light.
