“Where does the name Hoss come from?”

“I used to eat like a hoss, work like a hoss, pick things up like hoss. So, they just called me Hoss.”

It took me a second to realize that he was saying horse. Hoss has a beautiful Maine accent which tends to drop the “r” sound when followed by vowels. He’s from the area and talked about growing up before things were as convenient as they are today. In addition to being known for his business, Hoss is also a prominent spiritual figure in town. He wrote a book titled “Hoss Power” and generously distributes copies to spread messages of positive thinking and self-empowerment.
